Subject: Silent Weekend at Western Oregon University, August 14-16

The ASL/English Interpreting Program at Western Oregon University, the Oregon Department of Education’s Educational Interpreter Subcommittee, the Regional Resource Center on Deafness, the Oregon Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the Western Region Interpreter Education Center are sponsoring a:


SILENT WEEKEND
for ASL Instructors, Interpreters, Mentors, and Students

Who:
Interpreters, interpreter educators, ASL instructors, students, Deaf and hearing community members

Hone your skills during a Silent Weekend. Presentations and activities will be presented in ASL.

What:
Immersion opportunity during a Silent Weekend to hone your skills. All activities will be presented in ASL.
4 Breakout Workshop Tracks:
• Interpreter Professional Development
• ASL Skill Development for Students and Community
• ASL Teachers/Interpreter Educators Track
• Interpreter Mentor Track

When:
August 14th, 5:30-10pm, Silent Weekend
August 15th, 8am-9pm, Silent Weekend
August 16th, 8am-12pm, Silent Weekend

Registration, Lodging and Meal Costs:
Registration includes presenter fees, CEU processing, room reservation space, use of campus

• $50 Early Bird full-weekend registration on or before Wednesday, July 1st
• $80 full-weekend registration after Wednesday, July 1st
• $21 housing in on-campus residence halls, with linens
• $16 housing in on-campus residence halls, no linens
• $40 for meals (Friday Silent Dinner, Saturday BLD, Sunday Breakfast)



Daily Registration Only (for Silent Weekend)
$25 Friday
$60 Saturday
$25 Sunday

Student Rate:
$35 Registration by or on 7/1/09
$65 At-the-door registration
*Students enrolled in Interpreting, Deaf Education, Deaf Studies and ASL Studies

Refund Policy:
Registration cancellation must be received in writing.
Prior to or on August 1, 2009, full amount refunded, less $25.
After August 1, 2009, no refund.

CEU’s:
