Professional networking for sign language interpreters

If i had to choose a mentorship program for myself i would not know which to choose. Do you have an idea? Does it really matter where a beginning interpreter starts? How does a person who doesn't know what type of mentor ship to choose narrow an idea?
Let me know if you can.
