Professional networking for sign language interpreters

Hi I work in the college system right now but i dont know if this is the right place to ask this question but there was no other place that was related to my question. I was wondering if i moved to a Midwest state from a west coast state are the sign variations similar or is it really different? Im from California and Im looking into moving to Colorado.

You'll probably find about 6 signs different... not enough to throw you... (or maybe one or two will throw you - depending on if they are specific to an interpreting assignment for which you are working.. and the term is "common" to locals)... but no - you dont need to expect to find "an entirely different language"...

I am from KY and did my internship in AZ. There were a few signs that were very different however over all they were very similar. There was nothing that really skewed the message and most people were understanding and we enjoyed sharing the different sign choices. I was able to adapt very quickly and again most of the signs were very similar.

I made the exact same move from Southern California to Denver, CO last year and found myself only adjusting slightly to new regional variants I saw. I work in university/HS settings in CA, and do freelance work through Purple (Formerly SLA) in Denver, and have had no problems getting settled.
I think you'll do just fine :-D
