Hi all!
There is an issue involving a community college, that has decided NOT to pay their interpreters full payfor assignments, if the student or class cancells with NO notice or LESS than 24 hour notice. What are your thoughts, is this fair or ...
It's been my experience that if you don't iron out the specifics to any agreement with contract work, you are subjecting yourself the descression of the other party. Freelance, Colleges, whatever! If I am working Academia for a University or Commu...
Oh, one other thing, never think of yourself as being hired for a class by the day, by the week. You're being hired by the semester. I say that because what happens if you decide you don't want to do the class this coming Friday and it is Wednesda...

Hi Chris,
I don't remember the name, but I'm sure if I saw you I would remember you...I'm horrible with names. Sorry about that...
As far as mentorship opportunities:
CSU Northridge - if an employee
Cerritos College - if an employee
http://www.love2asl.com/mentoring_amp - actual classes but a little expensive
http://www.signs-of-development.org/website/paceM.html - this is remote mentoring
Then there is always the possibility of asking an interpreter to mentor you directly.
I hope this helped somewhat. Let me know if I can do something else. - Marjorie
Oh I am glad you are doing well! You go woman! (On the NIC Perf). Good luck! I am so happy that you are still interpreting. Keep it up. Have a great week.
Welcome! Join a group, start a group, post an upcoming event in your area, start your very own blog... share your knowledge, experience and opinion with other interpreters. Thanks for being a part of TerpLink.
