I first learned sign language at the age of 13 where, after experiencing some hearing loss due to an injury I became interested in sign language. I found that it came very easy to me so I spent much of 8th grade learning anything I could about the language. I took ASL I & II in 9th and 10th grade with the most amazing teacher, Alesia Holewinski who socialized me with deaf kids my own age. I prefurred sign language so much that I ended up staying with that group of deaf kids all through High School. I took ASL I & II again at Suffolk County Community College on Long Island, as well as deaf culture which I loved. I am currently working on my CI at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and I can't wait untill I become an Interpreter:)
